  15. WARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause
  16.      serious, system-wide problems that may require you to
  17.      reinstall Windows NT to correct them. Microsoft cannot
  18.      guarantee that any problems resulting from the use of
  19.      Registry Editor can be solved. Use this tool at your own
  20.      risk.

  22. The following procedure outlines the steps to remove an unwanted
  23. workgroup postoffice (WGPO) under Windows NT. This procedure returns
  24. Microsoft Mail to the state it was in before running Mail for the
  25. first time.

  27.    WARNING: Back up (export) any mail you want to retain before proceeding
  28.    with the following.

  30. 1. Using File Manager, delete the postoffice directory and all
  31.    subdirectories in it. The default name of the Windows NT postoffice
  32.    directory is WGPO and it can be located in the root directory or a
  33.    subdirectory of any available partition on the hard disk drive.

  35.       WARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious,
  36.       system-wide problems that may require you to reinstall Windows NT to
  37.       correct them. Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems resulting
  38.       from the use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use this tool at your
  39.       own risk.

  41. 2. Start Registry Editor (REGEDT32.EXE) and select the following
  42.    subkey to highlight it:

  44.       HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Mail\Microsoft Mail
  45.  
  46. 3. Press the DELETE key on your keyboard, or choose Delete from the
  47.    Edit menu, and then press ENTER to confirm the action.

  49. The next time you start MS Mail, you will have the option of
  50. connecting to an existing postoffice, or creating a new postoffice,
  51. and then continuing with the rest of the initial MS Mail setup.
